Greetings!
We had our meeting also on January 23rd . One of our discussions at the meeting this year is for all members to be on the lookout for new faces at shows and to make sure all exhibitors are finding anything they may need or just answer questions. The main thing is to be sure all exhibitors feel welcome at our shows.
We have a new hospitality committee also on the lookout for new faces too!! Everyone gets busy with their respective classes, but there is also downtime that would be a good time to take a walk around the barns, show area to look for new faces. I challenge each of you to go out and meet some new people at every show.
We have some new ideas for fund raising, looking to raffle off a 26” flat screen TV, we will be selling candy at the Carthage shows, possibly having a bake sale at a show and then we’ll have our silent auction at a show later this summer. More details on this to follow. We’re going to have a “puzzle sale”, with 3 nice prizes already donated. The first donation is a stall donated from Ozark QH, to be used at a Carthage show. The second would be a photo donated by Rosemary Lahmann. The third is a Visa card that could be used anywhere, card amount also to follow.
We are also still holdling the Bob Wright Memorial Walk trot class at every show. This is a good class to use as a warmup or just get a horse out to stretch their legs.
Missouri’s first show this year is March 6-7 at Lucky J in Carthage. The next show, also at Lucky J on March 27-28, which is the Heart of America Buckskin Introductory show.
I hope all are getting anxious to get the 2010 show season underway. I know it has been a long winter and I’m more than ready for warmer weather!!
