Hi Guys!
I can’t believe it is already 2012! I hope you all had a great Christmas. I was very sad that the break is over and that school is back in session. The Missouri show season is going to be here before we know it! I hope you will find the following information helpful in planning for the upcoming show season.

SILENT AUCTION
If you are planning on attending the convention, please remember to bring a few items for your donation to the silent auction. It can be any item you desire, something for your horse, western home décor, clothing, sports related, make-up, Starbucks cards, restaurant cards, use your imagination and try to come up with something unique! Anything you can bring is greatly appreciated! This has been a huge fundraiser in the past.

Please send us any and all of your photos from 2011! It is so cool to watch the DVD presentation at the convention and see all the fun that everyone has had during the show season. Deadline is January 10th!!!
WHAT OFFICE DO YOU WANT TO RUN FOR IN 2012?
Have you made your decision on which position you would like to run for at the convention? Here is how it works. At the convention on Saturday morning there is a youth meeting. You will need to mention to another youth member or one of our youth advisors, which office you would like to run for, and then you will be nominated. You will be asked to give a short speech (maybe 3-5 minutes), the voting will take place and the new board of officers will be announced! I can’t urge you enough to run for an office. None of the positions are really time consuming. It also looks great on your future resume! So start now working on your speech!

SPONSORSHIPS VS. FUNDRAISING
We still need everyone to be thinking about how you want to do our fundraising for 2012. Do you want to do sponsorships again for 2012 or do you want to go back to multiple fundraising events throughout the year? Or, maybe do sponsorships and then a few fun events? This is just a something to think about and talk about with your parents and trainers before the convention meeting.
Think of some great fundraising ideas to share with the group at the convention!
2011 YEAR END AWARDS
Congratulations to everyone who is receiving year end awards this year! Thank you so much for getting your orders placed so quickly! The Tack Room is working very hard to hopefully have everyone’s items ready to be awarded at the convention
2012 LETTERS OF INTENT
I have attached a list of the 2012Letters of Intents that I have received so far. Please look them over and make sure all of the information is correct. If you find any errors, please just let me know and we can get them changed. For those of you who have not yet turned in your Letter of Intent for 2012, please do so before you start showing again! Remember, your points do not count until your Letter of Intent has been received!
MQHA 2012 DIRECTORY
Rosemary Lahmann is working very hard on the MQHA Directory right now. The rates are so reasonable this year! A full page, color ad is only $250! There are lots of different choices to fit every budget! Talk to your parents about getting your ad placed! This directory will be distributed to a lot of judges. It is a great way to advertise and much less expensive than the other magazines.
Don’t forget! MQHA is offering directory ad sales incentives that will help you get your ad at a discounted rate! Go to your local feed stores, tack stores, truck dealers, etc. and sell some ads! Rosemary would like the ads turned very soon!

Well, that is all the important information I have for now. I don’t have a lot of news this month. Mostly I want to make sure you are planning on attending our annual convention. It is really a great time to get to know everyone and have fun in a social setting. I hope to see you all in February!

Hi Everyone!
I hope that you are enjoying this amazing fall weather! First of all, I would like to wish our Congress NYATT Team members the best of luck! Our team members this year are Abby Wiens, Lydia Whetstine, Christina Kreisch, Jack Medows, Hannah Mitchell and Denim Smith. We know that you all will do Missouri proud in the NYATT competition!
Well, our shows are winding down for 2011. We still have the Barrel Bash, which is a qualifying show, over Thanksgiving week-end for our speed event kids. But, otherwise we don’t have any qualifying shows until spring. However, this is a great time to get your Letters of Intent turned in for 2012! I have attached a current list of those who have turned in there Letters of Intent so far. Please remember that your points DO NOT count towards qualifying until I have your Letter of Intent and fees!
I am still looking for a parent who would be willing to be our qualifying point secretary. Please give me a call if you are interested or have any questions.
Mark your calendars for our MQHA Annual Convention! The dates are February 3-5, 2012. It will be held again this year at Tan-Tar-A at the Lake of the Ozarks. Please start thinking about what you would like to enter in the Arts competition (categories range from artwork, crafts, creative writing, etc.), what office you would like to run for, new and creative fundraising ideas, and any other great ideas you have for MQHYA!
One final thought … please look at any pictures you have taken this year. Pick out your favorite photos and email them to me or if you have a lot, send me a disk with as many as you would like. We will use these photos for the DVD presentation at the convention. It is always fun to see everyone’s pictures up on the big screen during the awards dinner. I would love to have pictures from everyone! I would also like to have a picture of you and your horse to display on the screen when you are getting your year end awards this year.
