MQHYA Member Spotlight: Avery Bergan

Avery Bergan is one of our newly elected MQHYA officers for 2022, but aside from pursuing leadership opportunities, she is the definition of an “all-around” showman. Avery and her horses “Lopin’ Award” and “Do It Like That” compete in showmanship, horsemanship, hunt-seat equitation, and the trail. While she enjoys all these events, Avery’s favorite class is the trail due to its challenging nature and the emphasis that it places on the connection between horse and rider.

Avery stated that the Missouri Quarter Horse Youth Association is particularly special to her because “everyone is so kind and welcoming”. In addition to the competitions themselves, she enjoys our fundraising activities as well as our annual convention/meetings.

Avery would encourage any youth who are just beginning their journey within the equine industry to gain as much competitive experience as possible. She urges individuals to maximize their involvement within their affiliate.

Congratulations on your election as MQHYA Executive Director - Social Chair, Avery! We look forward to seeing what you accomplish throughout the year!
