MQHYA Member Spotlight: Jocelyn Timmermeyer

This month’s spotlight is shining directly on Jocelyn Timmermeyer, a fourteen-year-old from Kansas City!

Jocelyn shows her gelding, Good Times For Me (Felix), in the all-around events and the ranch horse classes. While she may show in a variety of disciplines, Jocelyn does have a favorite. She loves the showmanship because her horse is especially talented at it and because Felix is very lovable in the show ring.

When asked what makes the Missouri Quarter Horse Youth Association special to Jocelyn, she mentioned that it is the people that she has had the opportunity to meet. She also pointed out that the wonderful memories that MQHYA has provided make all of the hard work and preparation absolutely worth it. Additionally, Jocelyn would like to encourage any youth who are just beginning their riding career to become as involved as possible and not to be afraid to push themselves to “the next level”.

One fun fact about this MQHYA youth is that her favorite color is pink! However, she says this is unfortunate because her mom does not believe that her four-legged, equine partner looks the best in pink. Sometimes, coordination is key!

Good luck throughout the remainder of your competition season, Jocelyn! MQHYA is proud to have you as a member, and we are thrilled to see what you are able to accomplish next.
